U3A in The Quays

On Friday 16th December 2011, in The Quays shopping centre, Newry U3A joined up with Newry Senior Citizens group to showcase the activities of the older age sector. We set up our stall, brought along our U3A Choir and our Gentlemen Singers and entertained the shoppers for a couple of hours. This video is an edited version of what we got up to on the day.

When I Grow Up

We are all getting older – so how do we avoid or at least delay the onset of the problems of old age – the heart attacks, strokes, dementia, loneliness and isolation. All the research suggests that there is a lot we can do to make our later years healthy and enjoyable - meet new people, learn a new language, eat well, travel, embrace modern technology (the computer, the internet, the mobile phone), sing, dance, play a musical instrument, be physically active, seek out new challenges, look forward with anticipation to the coming years.

In other words join U3A, we do all those things!
